Click on the title of this post and then look at the url in your browser. Its huge… now compare it to this (http://tinyurl.com/2vut66) They both go to the same place, but tinyurl just gives you a much shorter manageable url instead of that long one.

LBZ marathon sign up

So it is official. I’ve signed up for the Long Beach City marathon this fall. It’s in October so I have roughly 32 weeks of training ahead of me. I hope this is enough to time to run it and do well on it. Now its up to me to actually follow through and do the run. I’ve been working on some cardio for a couple weeks and going to the gym pretty regularly. Today I begin the real training and I start counting miles. We’ll see how it goes and if I’m not too tired I’ll keep a status of my progress in here. Wish me luck!

Google heard him

Aaron Stanton is on a mission. To have the googlegods hear him. And he’s doing it well. Cheer a fellow geek on! He took off from his home town, to visit Google and present his idea. The catch was that he did it without having an appointment. He flew across state lines to California and simply showed up at Google’s door. He hoped that with the power of the internet, and the viral instant distribution of ideas,  and his perseverance Google would give him an audience.  And they have, Congratulations.

Aaron, good luck to you with your idea, from your blog, it sounds like its going well and I can’t wait to see what comes of it. Is your idea so good that we’ll see it in the Google Labs soon? only Google knows, but for now, you go do your thing. Good luck to you!

Why the iPhone will kick ass.

A great article on why you want an iphone and why it will blow everything out of the water. And will change the way we communicate. This is history in the making.
For those of you that have been asking me why I’ll get one… read this article. It is good, easy read and comprehensive. For the rest of you that are already on the iPhone bandwagon, the article is good and highlights the awesome features we should expect when it is ready for prime time.

Now thats funny

My voidwalker tells jokes! This cracked me up today. My VW reacted to an action by telling me I can’t void where prohibited. LOL

Transformers and The Host two movies to watch

This movie looks awesome. It looks like it has the potential of being one of the best monster horror movies. Just watching the trailer gave me the chills. Along with the new Transformers movie coming up in July. That looks like a must see for sure. I better put them in my calendar, I must see them on opening day. –Yeah right. We’ll see chances of that happening.

Check out their trailers…

The Host - Looks great. It has a Godzilla feel to it but well done.

Transformers - YEAH! Baby! can’t wait, this is one we all geeks have been waiting for a while now.

The Wisdom Door

Ever wanted to walk into a room and have everything in the room turn to your liking? Preset configurations for the music  playing in the background, temperature, even aromas. You could have your phone calls routed to the nearest phone, and Tivo would have your favorite shows on any room you walk into. Nevermind all the technology you need for these things to work… you need something that will start the process when you walk into a room, something that will tell the room… “I have arrived”.

Well… now there is something that will do that. Enter “The Wisdom Door” Hahahaha. That just cracks me up, the Wisdom Door. It sounds so fantasy role-playing inspired ROFL. “Enter my friend, welcome to my humble abode, do pass under the Widsom Door and let your fortune be known”

Discovery Channel :: News - Technology :: Smart Door Recognizes People
The Wisdom Door, created by students at Duke University in Durham, N.C., could not only provide security but could also be rigged to control home electronics, so that when the person passes through the door, a room automatically lights up, plays music, or switches to a television channel all according to personal preference.

Look Ma’ no measuring tape

I’ve always thought this was possible. Now with this piece of software, you can measure anything just by taking a picture of it. If you ask me, that is awesome! It is not free (I wish) so I haven’t tried it but the guys guarantee a very accurate measure as accurate as 1/32 of an inch. This is way cool… now if I can just find a free trial.

iPhotoMEASURE - The Contractors Photo Measuring Tool

This is pretty damn funny I thought. Technical terms brought down to lame man’s terms.  I never thought of Risk Assesements in flatulence terms, but it pretty much dumbs it down for anyone to understand it. Other things like Risk Management and Tactical Deception are also covered in this little handy guide. Enjoy
Special Operation Forces - Terms Made Easy
You fart, and the others don’t hear it or smell it; i.e. they don’t even know it happened — that’s CLANDESTINE.

This sucks. This needs to be publicized more!
