This is just Bizarre

This lady still breast feeds her daughter. She is 8!

This is the story about a lady that breast fed her daugher up to the age of 8!. It is pretty odd to hear about things like this and given that its such a controversial issue. Some people won’t breast feed past 6 months or a year and at the other side of the spectrum you have people like this lady.

Quicken Registration nagging screen begone!

I use Quicken 07 to manage my money and it is awesome. The one thing that I hate about it is the stupid registration nagging screen. Every time you try to do anything, it wants to register and I’m sick of it. I had to find a way to get rid of that. It does it when you start up, when you want to update your transactions, etcetera.

To stop the registration from coming up, press and hold the Control and Shift buttons then click on update transactions. This should pop up a message that registration will not come up anymore.

Thats it!

New Adult animated movie - Free Jimmy

I don’t know if this is actually going into production and if we’ll get to see it here in SoCal, but check out the trailer for Free Jimmy. It looks funny as hell, well done and to top it off it is an animated film.

World’s Top 100 Most Livable Cities - says who?

I was surprised to see that the US doesn’t have a city listed until number 27! That is pretty crazy if you think about it. We think the US is the greatest place to live, but according to this list… it is not. Once you get to some of the cities that the US does have in this list, you’ll see Los Angeles as one of them. Los Angeles is listed as #55. I can think of 100 cities I’d rather live than L.A. it is overcrowded, dirty, traffic is horrible and crime loves it. I wonder what are the 39 key points used to judge quality of life.

Mercer Human Resource Consulting, which provides advice to multinational companies on international assignments, has come up with a global ranking of the world’s most livable cities based on 39 key quality-of-life issues.

This would make buying a used car obsolete for certain people. But I can’t imagine a $3000 car would have anything in it that is really appealing. I guess if you want just a plain daily commuter car this may be the way to go. Thirty-three horse power? That seems hardly enough to even get going, and at a top speed of 80 mph, it would be a challenge driving around the freeways in Socal.

Renault-Nissan is planning on building a car for under $3000. The price could be as low as $2500, which is 40% less and that the least expensive sub-compact car available today.

Write to your senator. Today.

I remember having to write a letter to congress or the senate or the President when I was in High School. I think it was for my economics class or maybe it was Political Science. Yeah that would make more sense, polisci. But I don’t remember if I actually did it, but I passed the class so who cares.

Almost 10 years later, I decided to write to my senator, Dianne Feinstein.

I wrote to her about the PERFORM act, aka the Platform Equality and Remedies for Rights-holders in Music Act. Try saying that three times in a row. The act basically calls for restrictions on recording over the air and other broadcast methods.

I personally think its BS but you should read about it for yourself. In anyway, find something you are interested and write to your senator, its a fun experience and interesting to see what kind of response you get.

Stonehenge has been a scientific puzzle for a long time. This guy found a way to move rocks as big as Stonehenge’s all by himself. Move them, lift them, raise them up. And he does it all by himself, with simple gravity powered tools.

Really cool stuff

Joost watch it

I just got my invitation to Joost from my buddy. Signing up took just about a minute and shortly thereafter I was watching full size tv on my second monitor. In fact I’m writing this as I am watching a show from the National Geographic channel. It took about 10 seconds to load and begun playing. It looks great. Continue Reading “Joost watch it” »

My condolences

My most sincere condolences go out to all the families affected by today’s tragedy. It is inexplicable how something like this could happen.

For those of you living under a rock… if you haven’t heard about the shooting, you can watch this news clip.

Here’s what Bush had to say about the matter:

Our nation is shocked and saddened by the news of the shooting at Virginia Tech today. Schools should be places of safety and sanctuary and learning. Then that sanctuary is violated, the impact is felt in every American classroom and every American community. Today, our nation grieves with those who have lost loved ones at Virginia Tech. We hold the victims in our hearts; we lift them up in our prayers and we ask a loving God to comfort those who are suffering today.

Here are some articles of interest:

Virginia Tech replaced the University of Texas as the site of the deadliest mass shooting on a U.S. college campus.

It’s just chaos down there, pretty much. They were making everyone stay inside and they didn’t know what was going on at first

The gunman’s suicide brings the death toll to 33.

A Israeli lecturer was was among those killed in Monday’s fatal shooting attack at Virginia Tech

Great video

I don’t know how to explain this one but its a music video for a band. the song is okay, nothing to write home about but the background story of the cow is awesome.

Pretty funny stuff, I wish they would have skipped the whole party scene, all the shaky and jumpy camera stuff kinda gave me a headache but kudos for the rest of it.
