How to scare bank robbers - Kill them with friendliness
According to this guy, Agent Larry Carr. You can deter would be bank robbers by greeting them with a big smile and being super friendly to them. Apparently, they get shaken up by the unusual friendliness and often change their minds about committing the crime. I suppose this would apply to any other establishment that servers walk-in customers.
Hmmm… interesting theory I guess.

When a man walked into a First Mutual branch last year wearing garden gloves and sunglasses, manager Scott Taffera greeted him heartily, invited him to remove the glasses, and guided him to an equally friendly teller.
