Huge Shrimp!
So this Saturday we went to see Wicked. Instead of going out to dinner in some fancy place in LA, we decided to make food at home. It was great, everyone made something. I took a trip to Pearson’s Port and got some huge shrimp that they have in stock right now. It is live shrimp so its super fresh. The Crab Lady will cut their heads off for you. Take a look at this picture I took at her shop.
I ended up grilling them with butter and them with a little bit of spices and then serving them over pasta with a pink sauce. It was good stuff, and if I may say it myself, the whole meal ended up being better than it would ahve been at a fancy restaurant. And cheaper too! For those of you keeping track of my culinary adventures, we did not find a worm in this food!
Here’s a couple more pictures from our dinner. It was a mini seafood extravaganza.
The big shrimp getting cooked! - When I got home and begun peeling the shells of these guys, they were still flippin around. It was kind of creepy, I assume the nerve were still somewhat active and I waited for an other hour or so before I continued and finished peeling them. It felt really weird to try to peel them while they were still flipping around, even with their heads cut off!
Getting all cleaned up at Pearson’s Port.
