Consider the dual monitor setup

This has been on my mind for sometime now and I wasn’t sure how to bring this up. I always thank the people that put out little programs that work great. If they offer some sort of donation system then I’ll send a few bucks here and there. I’m grateful for the applications that are out there for us to use, and I really have not complaints to voice publicly because after all, these apps are free and available. The way I see it is that if I don’t like it then just don’t have to use it.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I ask that you consider multiple monitors when making your program. It would be great if you could specify if you want the program to run on one screen, or the other instead. I mean dual monitors may still be a luxury in most cases, but I’ve had dual-screens because of work since 2000, and personally at home for a few years. More and more people are using dual monitors, so why not add a few preference options that will enhance the experience?

This would be particularly useful when:

  • The application goes “full screen” it shouldn’t prevent me from working on the other screen, and I should be able to tell it which screen to go big on.
  • The application is dockable, or it “snaps to edge” so when you try to cross the screens, it should not freak out.
  • So I’m not complaining for the great functionality that your program gives me, for whatever program it is… but I hope you think of the dual monitor users when you write the next patch for your software.
