Taking great photos of your car

Great little article on how to take good car photos. This is a must if you’re trying to sell your car on ebay, or simply want to show off your prized vehicle to the world. It is surprisingly simple to get good shots. Worth the 3 min read for sure.

The whole article is here

This comes in handy for me, because I like taking photos of cars. If you’ve never looked at them (although they’re not as good as the ones in the article) you can see my car photos on flickr.

Rolling your own

We decided to make spring rolls for dinner on Friday. They turned out great. We do these like once a month. It is fun to make them, they are very tasty. If you’re watching your diet, these are also very healthy for you due to their flexibility in ingredients. I think the best part about it is that this whole dinner cost us about $6.00 in ingredients by the time we finished I was stuffed. Check out the pictures.

All the ingredients

Starting with the lettuce at the top and moving clockwise, we have: lettuce, mint, tofu, spring rolls noodles (I don’t know what they’re actually called), tofu, cucumber, green onions, shrimp, pork and cilantro.

Rice paper

Take a large bowl, fill it with warm water (warmer than cooler), and dip your rice paper so it gets wet all over. Don’t soak it in there, just dip it so its completely wet and bring it back to your plate.

Loading up ingredients

Start loading up the ingredients. If you divide the paper in thirds, you should keep the ingredients in between the first and second sections closest to you. Fill in with whatever ingredients you want. Continue Reading “Rolling your own” »

Superbowl and carshow

Well I actually watched the superbowl this time. I usually go to a party or have some sort of event going on but I never really watch the game. Most of the times –this past Sunday not being an exception– I don’t even know who’s playing until a couple hours before the game. I guess it was the Patriots and the Giants, please don’t ask me which one is from where.

In any case, It was a great game, and I don’t even like football that much, but there’s something about those amazing comebacks. Last minute and score! I think part of why I enjoyed it so much was because of the party. Probably the best Superbowl party I’ve ever been to. Dan and Michelle, thanks for hosting! That was the bomb.

Happy New year

Happy New year to all of you. I hope this year brings you prosperity, good fortune, health and happiness.

To close out the year, I wanted to share some of my pictures.

My girlfriend and I took a little trip to Paso Robles, and we had a lot of fun. Tasted a lot of wine and enjoyed the area quite a bit. Here are some of the highlights.

Stairs to our room

This is the lobby at El Paso Robles Inn, very cool hotel. The service was great and even their restaurant was excellent. It’s in old town so its close to pretty much everything and centrally located if you want to go wine tasting. I highly recommend it if you are going to visit the area. They also have free wine tasting deals if you ask.

At the end of the Tour IMG_0925.JPG

There is a cool guided tour at Eberle, and we definitely liked J.Lohr a lot.

Me next to it

I left early one morning to get some sunrise pictures and I found an elephant seal, check out some of the shots by clicking on that picture.

Other pictures you may be interested are below, and they vary across a lot of my interests. Hope you like them.

Happy New Year!

night bridge

Here’s my latest HDR shot, let me know what you think if you want. I appreciate any feedback I can get. This was taken late at night, and it was pretty much pitch black. It seems that darker scenes are better HDR candidates.

pretty damn cool IMO. slowly 3rd world countries are starting to get into technology. It is interesting to see what new uses, current or “old” technology serves when it reaches people that are generally not exposed to high-tech stuff.
